CECO Environmental Announces $6.7 Million of New Orders in the Power and Steel Industries

CECO Environmental Corp. , a leading provider of air pollution control and industrial ventilation systems, announced today that it has received significant new orders in the power and steel industries.

Rick Blum, President and Chief Operating Officer, stated, "Our Effox subsidiary received a significant order of about $2.0 million to provide replacement dampers for an American power plant. Effox and AVC also received other orders in the power industry totaling an additional $2.0 million. The Kirk & Blum subsidiary received an order in the amount of approximately $1.3 million to provide equipment for a coke-making facility for the steel industry. Our Effox and Busch International subsidiaries received additional orders from the steel industry totaling another $1.4 million. "

Phillip DeZwirek, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "In addition to this activity, CECO has within the last months received significant orders from the refining, automotive, renewable energy, chemical processing, food, and foundry industries. Diversification of our customer base has been a key strategy and we feel that this diversification has helped to maintain our order stream during these challenging times."

DeZwirek also stated, "CECO has taken advantage of this period of little M&A activity to consolidate our aggressive acquisition program of the past two years and CECO has implemented an immediate plan of cost reduction which we anticipate will result in greatly reduced SG&A and related costs. This reduction in costs should impact results in the second quarter and be fully realized in the third quarter of this current year."
